589 students enrolled in Kimble County schools during 2023-24 school year

There were 589 students enrolled in Kimble County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 4.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Kimble County had the 32nd lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 56.9% of the student body, the largest percentage in Kimble County schools, followed by Hispanic students at 39.9%, Black students at 0.7%, Asian students at 0.2% and multiracial students at 2.4%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
