There were 4,359 white students enrolled in San Angelo ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that San Angelo ISD schools welcomed 13,860 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 31.5% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

San Angelo ISD roughly covers schools within Tom Green County and has a main office in San Angelo.

Among the 23 schools in San Angelo ISD schools, Central High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 1,081 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
