The San Angelo City Council has authorized negotiations of the sale of 2,830 acres of the Ford Ranch.

Records indicate that the proposal was marketed at no less than $1,400 per acre to the person interested in the land, Neil Tinsley.

Ford Ranch is located in Melvin. The acreage of the land totaled 32,841 when the city first purchased the ranch. The land was acquired by the city for approximately $44 million.

In July, the city negotiated the sale of approximately 575 acres of the ranch for no less than $1,950 per acre. The buyers were Adam and Kimberly Ellisor.

The city also approved in June the sale of 324 acres of the ranch for no less than $450,000 or $1,385 per acre to a property owner who owns adjacent land.

In March, the city said it would sell 864 acres of the southeast corner of the ranch. The buyers were the city of Riverbend, Texas, LLC and High Point Ranch Expansion, LLC.
