City of Brady issued the following announcement on Feb. 20.

Mayor and City Council Place 1

Filing Dates for a place on Ballot - January 15 thru February 14 by 5 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS TO RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL:

Be a citizen of the United States
Be a resident of the City of Brady for at least twelve (12) months prior to election day and must remain a resident of the City throughout the elected term
Be a registered voter of the State of Texas
Be 21 years of age or older
Have no felony convictions; and
Not be found mentally incapacitated by a court having jurisdiction

FILING FOR OFFICE:

Have all the qualifications for Council Member as described above
No candidate may file for more than one (1) office or place per election
No candidate may withdraw from an election and file for another office or place at the same election
No candidate may withdraw from an election and file for another office or place at the same election
Each candidate shall file such application as required by State Election laws
Each candidate shall pay a filing fee of $100 or submit a petition of 100 qualified voters of the City of Brady
