Enrollment at Texas Leadership schools increased by 6% compared to previous school year

There were 3,722 students enrolled in Texas Leadership schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Texas Leadership students was Hispanic, accounting for 49.1% of the student population.

Texas Leadership roughly covers schools within Tom Green County with its main office in San Angelo.

Among the four schools in Texas Leadership, Texas Leadership of San Angelo recorded the highest enrollment of 1,299 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
