There were 226 students enrolled in Paint Rock ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 51.8% of the Paint Rock ISD total enrollment.

Paint Rock ISD roughly covers schools within Concho County with its main office in Paint Rock.

Among the five schools in Paint Rock ISD, Paint Rock School recorded the highest enrollment of 214 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
