Jeff Alley of El Paso will continue his term on the Eighth Court of Appeals.
The appointment, made by Gov. Greg Abbott, was for a term that will expire at the end of 2022, or until a successor is elected.
Alley has been chief justice of the Eighth Court of Appeals since October 2019. Before that he worked as former Chief Justice Ann McClure's staff attorney. He also worked in private practice for three decades. Alley is board certified in Civil Appellate Law. He's a member of the State Bar of Texas and the El Paso Bar Association. He's president of the Pioneer Association.
Alley received his bachelor's and law degree from Texas Tech.
The Eighth Court of Appeals is located in El Paso and serves 17 counties including Andrews, Crockett, El Paso, Hudspeth, Reagan and Upton.
