Cost of college went up for all students at Angelo State University

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.3 percent for 2018-19 at Angelo State University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $7,436 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $235 more than the $7,201 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 133.9 percent more than residents this year, or $17,396. Their price tag grew 1.4 percent from $17,161 in 2017-18.

About 95 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. About 2 percent are residents of other states and 3 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 94 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,393 students received grants or scholarships totaling $9.4 million and 817 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (10,387), 5,193 students used grants or scholarships totaling $33 million, and 2,988 students took out $18 million in federal student loans.
