The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce has reopened after its staff had been working from home due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to the Concho Valley Homepage, the first order of business was discussing the economy. Chamber officials discussed ways to get San Angelo back on track.
Chamber President Walter Koenig said it is nice to have the team back at work again.
“Our team’s been on the job the whole time but it’s really nice to have everyone back again and start to see San Angelo businesses open and recover,” Koenig told the Concho Valley Homepage. “Right now, during this crisis certainly we don’t check memberships at the door, our services are available to all, our webinar series is available. We only view two kinds of businesses in San Angelo, those who are members and those who are future members so we’re looking forward to welcoming more businesses into our family."
Michael Looney, the Chamber's vice president of economic development, says the new economy will look drastically different for years to come.
“Then you have to look at the strategic aspect of things and that is ‘What is the new economy going to look like in 2021 and 2022 and then beyond?’” Looney said.
