Harbor Freight pledges PPE donations to local hospitals

Coronavirus6

A California-based discount tool and equipment retailer has pledged donations of personal protection equipment (PPE) to local hospitals.

Harbor Freight Tools announced in a press release earlier this month that it would give masks and other essential equipment. The chain has multiple locations in Texas, including in San Angelo.

“[As] we’ve been following the news over the last few days, we’ve heard about the severe shortage of protective gear for hospitals, health care workers and first responders as the impact of COVID-19 is being felt across the country,” the company said in the release. “America depends on these heroes every day and in the days ahead we will depend on them even more. At Harbor Freight, we want them to know that they can depend on us too.”

Harbor Freight said it is set to donate its entire supply of N95 masks, face shields and nitrile gloves to hospitals in communities served by the company.

It advised hospital employees in need of PPE to speak with “the office in charge of procurement at your hospital so they can provide us with the information we’ll need to determine if we can make a donation,” according to the release.
